A.M. Willard brings you a romantic comedy with a touch of contemporary romance and a dash of chick lit, which takes you on a journey of friendship.
Frosted Sweets is the first installment of A Taste of Love Series in which we follow the lives of Morgan and Jayden, who are discovering life is anything but what it seems.
Morgan Lewis, the owner of The Polka Dot Café & Bakery, is about to wed the man she’s spent the last four years building a life with. What she doesn’t know is, that’s all about to change. Can her life move past a wedding disaster? Can her crazy friends help her pick up the pieces? And what’s in store for this sweet baker? Along with a booming business, the Christmas holiday rush, and her friends, Morgan is really sent into a spin when Jayden Rivers moves to town.
Jayden’s focus is on his career in production, but what he wasn’t expecting was to be knocked off his feet by a woman in the park. Sparks fly, but he’s not sure if she’s truly available or taken. With a severe sweet tooth and an addiction to Morgan Lewis’s treats, he can’t seem to stay away.
Will it turn into sugar and spice? Or a friendship over some frosted treats?
“A balance of friends, family, and love.”
Frosted Sweets is the first book in AM Willard’s Taste of Love series. It is a delightful chick-lit/contemporary romance.
Frosted Sweets is about four friends, Morgan, Natasha, Zara, and Francesca, and their love lives. I loved each of these women! This first book in the series is primarily about Morgan who owns and operates the Polka Dot Cafe and Bakery. She provides frosted sweets to local businesses and individuals. Her besties Natasha, Zara and Frankie are there to support her when Morgan calls off her fairytale wedding to suave businessman, Simon. This group of gals is a strong, supportive team. I loved their decision to wear sexy undergarments to feel strong, sexy and empowered no matter how drab their work attire. It was all about how they felt about themselves, not necessarily about a man’s response to the lingerie. It seems to work, because their new attitudes bring out all sorts of interested suitors.
Jayden is one of those suitors, and he is an unassuming, charming man who has just started own ring for one of the local businesses who frequently order from the Polka Dot Cafe. Jayden is one of the good guys, and he helps Morgan see that there are men who are sexy and supportive of the women in their lives.
The plot is straight forward and evenly paced. There is a good amount of humor tossed into the storyline. It was an easy, quick read that had me chuckling at times. I loved the variety of the men pursuing Morgan! This uplifting positive story is about pursuing your dreams and about allowing men in your life who are supportive of your path.
