Everything at Last (Magnolia Beach #2) by Kimberly Lang

☆••*´¨`*•.☆•• 4-stars ☆••*´¨`*•.☆••

A small Alabama waterfront town is the perfect place to start over…

At first sight, Molly Richards knew Magnolia Beach, Alabama, was the perfect place to escape her unhappy life. And though she’s proud of the small coffee shop she’s opened, something is missing. But she won’t let herself be burned by love—again.

Veterinarian Tate Harris finds the local dating scene awkward, since he’s known most of the eligible ladies his whole life. But he’s finding it hard to resist the unassuming charm of the sweet-faced owner of Latte Dah. And when a late-night pet emergency finds Tate at Molly’s house, that fascination turns into a potent mutual attraction.

But just as their relationship begins to take off, Molly’s haunted past returns. Fortunately, Tate is determined to help Molly fight for the life she’s been wishing for…

I absolutely adored this romance.  Kimberly Lang has created the perfect little beachside town and filled it with lovable characters.    Molly Richards is relatively new in town; the three-year-resident is the owner of the Latte Dah coffee shop (don’t you just love the name?).  She is friendly without sharing too much of herself.  Even her best friend, Helena, doesn’t know much about her, and she senses that she shouldn’t ask about whatever Molly is hiding.  Tate Harris is the local vet and a lifelong resident of Magnolia Beach.  He is all too familiar with the downside of living in a small town.  Everyone, and I mean everyone, knows your business.  You can’t hide your tragic childhood.

I felt like I had been transported to Magnolia Beach.  I loved the quaintness of this resort town and the closeness of the tight-knit town folk.  I adored the rainy-day board games events at the Latte Dah.  Ms. Lang’s writing has me longing to find my own Magnolia Beach.

Molly and Tate don’t fall in love at first sight.  In fact, they’ve been acquainted for years, but they are both uninterested in getting involved in a romance with their fellow locals.  The particulars of why are tragic for one and humorous for the other.  This is a no-spoiler review, so I won’t share the details. When volunteering for  the Memorial Day Children’s Faire throws them together, Helena gives them each a nudge toward one another. As you can guess, Helena’s instinct that they’re perfect for one another is spot on…until Molly’s mysterious past catches up with her.  I was completely surprised by the big conflict by Tate’s ungracious response.  The path to resolution was heartwarming and restorative.

Everything at Last by Kimberly Lang is the second book in her Magnolia Beach series.  Each book in the series is a full-length standalone novel that features one couple.  Everything at Last is a sweet, southern 4-star romance that had me engaged from page one to the end!
