Review: Hard Edit by Eva LeNoir and Andrea Smith

Title: Hard Edit

Series: Black Balled #2

By: Andrea Smith & Eva LeNoir

Publication Date: September 4, 2016

Genre: MM Romance

What it’s about:

It’s all fun and games until egos get hurt.

After a year of a seemingly happily-ever-after, Troy Babilonia throws a curve ball that smacks Larson Blackburn right in the head. When Troy’s debut novel, “Bridge to Lonely,” threatens to overshadow Larson’s own success, inviting a past shadow into the light of their present, the two alphas must learn to adjust.

“Bridge to Lonely” has garnered an unexpected success both in the literary world and in the film industry, forcing Larson to accept that he is not the only successful author in the building. But as Troy’s old flame decides to make an appearance, the two alphas are forced to test

the strength of their love. Let the battle of the egos recommence; where sarcasm is the preferred weapon, and the testosterone levels go beyond the boiling point.

Because Black Balled just wasn’t enough…Smith & LeNoir bring you Hard Edit.

What happens after the ride off into the sunset?  You find out in Hard Edit by Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir. Fans of Black Balled will love this sequel. Hard Edit is about the trials and tribulations of loving someone after the newness of the relationship has worn off. The relationship is still new enough that petty jealousy and insecurity sometimes get in the way, and it is not stale enough for those little tiffs to fester long enough to take over the relationship.

I loved the humor infused in this story. This unconventional couple continues the humorous, smart banter, which provides a great deal of levity to their struggles to find their way as a couple. The sometimes sexy and sometimes snarky banter between Troy and Larsen is engaging.

After years of blogging, Troy publishes his book and learns what it is like to be on the other side. It was absolutely hilarious to read about Troy’s first book signing event and his lack of preparation. I loved Larsen’s responses to Troy’s multiple faux pas. As the description eludes, its fun, fun, fun until a few hurdles and a lot of “ex’s” get involved. Speaking of ex’s, Troy and Larsen’s are quite the motley crew, and much to their surprise, some of their ex’s are mutual. You can imagine how well that goes!

You can’t help but want this meant-for-one-another couple to overcome every obstacle and find their path to happiness. Fortunately for them, the other people in their lives can see that these two are made for one another. With the help and support of friends, Troy and Larsen are again one another’s yin and yang.

If you were happy with the ending of Black Balled, you’ll be over the moon with Smith and LeNoir’s wrap up of Hard Edit. Troy and Larsen find what matters most to them, and they plan to enjoy every minute together to its fullest.
