What It’s About:

Middle Age Love With Thrilling Twists.
Each book in the series is a standalone about finding love later in life. Not only are they love stories, they are love stories with twists. Sometimes Mr. Perfect turns out to be not so perfect.
This is Erin’s story. A novella.
Erin is a divorced woman struggling with being comfortable with herself. When she finally decides to start dating again, she realizes that it’s not easy meeting a decent man. When she finally meets a man, she finds out some alarming things about his past. She begins to question who he really is. Could he be dangerous? Erin’s life is in jeopardy when the truth comes out.
This is a romance story about finding love and being in love.

My Thoughts:

Middle Age Love With Thrilling Twists: Erin’s Story is the debut of author Elizabeth Ann. While the title is a bit stiff, the story premise is great. Erin is a mature woman who has not been blessed with finding the love of her life—besides her cat. She teeter-totters between feeling like she doesn’t need a man to believing that having a man in her life is the only way she will close her book, get off the couch, and experience life.

I really enjoyed Erin’s mom, Gloria. She is upbeat and has some solid advice for her daughter. While Erin vacillates between rolling her eyes at her mother and appreciating having someone who bakes for her and listens to her, their relationship seems solid.

In this short novella, readers follow Erin’s attempt at online dating, thwarting a potential stalker, and eventually her finding love. A few questionable comments and strange occurrences make Erin wonder if her new beau is the man of her dreams or a nightmare waiting to happen.

I enjoy romantic suspense and mature love stories, so Ms. Ann’s story hit on a few favorites of mine. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for her second installment in her series.
