About the Book:
OUTLAW MC Calgary, 1978 Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs fight for control of the city. The gang war has begun. As the war spins out of control no one is safe—not children, judges, or cops.Who is their next target—Sergeant Brad Coulter?Yet stopping the war will bring an even greater threat to the city. The consequences of failure are unimaginable.
Author Dwayne Clayden’s second book, Outlaw MC is a dramatic and intense follow up to his debut novel, Crisis Point. The opening scene is riveting and a huge hook; I couldn’t put the book down!
While this is only Mr. Clayden second work of fiction, he has published several nonfiction works previously. His writing acumen is obvious. His experience as an EMT and police officer make his writing realistic. The plot flies. The story is complex and gritty. His characters jump off the pages. The detail that Mr. Clayden brings to his writing really makes his books come alive.
Outlaw MC is about a couple feuding motorcycle gangs wreaking havoc in 1978 Calgary. Not only is the storyline intense, but also the abundance of characters add to the complexity of the story. Brad Coulter returns as does his sassy partner, Sam Steele. Their banter is great! Best of all, Maggie Gray is back and better than ever. I love Brad and Maggie together.
The story is told from many points of view. The protagonists, the various antagonists, as well as a teenage kidnapping victim all have their say. Mr. Clayden masterfully develops each of his characters and gives them all a unique voice. He is even able to interject a bit of humor into this intense, dark thriller.
Outlaw MC can be read as a standalone, but I believe reading book 1 does give readers some interesting character information. There is a bit of a cliffhanger; however, book 3, Wolfman is Back has just been published, so there is no real wait!
