Review: Luke (Bossy Brothers #7) by J.A. Huss

☆☆➹⁀☆ 4 stars ☆➹⁀☆☆

About the Book:

Two hot men seeking a fun, flirty girl with a sense of adventure. You in?

My life changed the day Zach Boston walked into it. And we’ve been inseparable best friends and lovers ever since. But he’s almost seven years younger than me and I remember all too well what my twenties were like – A new adventure every day, non-stop partying every night, and a new girl (or guy) whenever I got bored.

That’s why Zach and I always have a third.

Girls are how we’ve kept it fresh all year.

We’ve gone through dozens of them since we got serious and I’m not saying I don’t enjoy the dynamic of a threesome, because I do.

But when this cute girl with pink hair comes sailing into our lives and upends everything—I don’t know if we’ll survive it.

Bossy Brothers: Luke is the final book in the Bossy Brothers series and features a sweet and sexy MMF ménage with two hot, committed men and a pink-haired gossip reporter desperate for a scoop. But when she stumbles into more secrets than she can handle, her boys need to call on all the Boston and Dumas brothers to keep her safe.

My Thoughts:

I enjoyed J.A. Huss’ stories about the Boston brothers, and I was thrilled when the story arc allowed her to add on stories about the related-by-marriage Dumas brothers.  The Boston brothers are interesting because of their infamy, and the Dumas brothers are just plain intriguing and fun.

I adore the family complex on Key West.  I love the idea of a tight-knit family running a multi-faceted family business. The fact that weekly family dinner is something the siblings do because they want to not just because it was expected made my knees week.  Who doesn’t love a guy who loves and respects his family!?!

Luke Dumas and Zach Boston became partners in more than one way in a prior book in the series, and this last series installment features them.  I love their banter and life outlook.  Ms. Huss adeptly threw in realistic relationship issues and doubts that really brought depth to the characters and story.

Posie Payseur is supposed to be a one-night stand, and she turns into so much more.  The way Ms. Huss incorporates this seeming throw-away character into the overall arc of the series is genius.  Getting her perspective as well as that of both Zach and Luke’s made for a rich, interesting story.

When things go from sexy hot to dangerous hot, the plot takes off.  Like the other books in the series, this is a fast-paced read that is hard to put down.  I enjoyed how Ms. Huss turned an innocent social media group into something bigger.  The author left me pondering if there was a socio-political message in some of the later plot points.  Even if there was a message in the author’s story, it is subtle and doesn’t take away from the shear fun of this romantic suspense.  As I’ve come to expect, Ms. Huss has delivered a complex story line, fascinating characters and wicked tie-ins to several of her previous books and series.  Don’t worry if you’re a new-to-this-author reader; you won’t get lost and you will want to read more of the author’s books.
