Review: Savage Road by Chris Hauty

☆☆➹⁀☆ 4 stars ☆➹⁀☆☆

About the Book:

When a series of devastating cyber attacks rock the United States, Hayley Chill is tasked by the “deeper state” to track down their source. NSA analysts insist that Moscow is the culprit, but that accusation brings plenty of complications with Hayley directing the president as a double agent against the Russians. With increasing pressure on the president to steer him towards a devastating war, it’s up to Hayley to stop the mysterious computer hacker and prevent World War III—while also uncovering some shocking truths about her own life.

My Thoughts:

Chris Hauty’s Savage Road is quite the thriller!  From the first page to the last, it is absolutely riveting.  The heroine, Hayley Chill, was first introduced in the first book of this series, Deep State, and Savage Road continues the story of her efforts to protect her country from various outside threats.

I loved the author’s writing.  The story is fraught with tension from the start to the finish.  I truly enjoyed the main character, Hayley Chill.  She is a delightfully, strong female protagonist. She is physically strong and mentally agile, and she has the grit and determination to take on a potentially treasonous president and escalating cyber attacks.

The incredible intrigue and espionage made me wish I had read Deep State prior to reading Savage Road, so that will be at the top of my to-be-read list as I anxiously await the next installment in the series.
