Review: Burn by Ginger Scott

☆☆➹⁀☆ 4 stars ☆➹⁀☆☆

About the Book:

Dustin Bridge’s world is about speed. About the edge. His life has been carved by cutting corners and making moves, following impulsive decisions while weighing the facts at hand.

On the track, that has never steered him wrong.

In life, though? That’s another story.

On the cusp of greatness, the world’s up-and-coming racing star seems to be living the perfect story. A hero to his hometown. A partner to his best friend. A man poised to take the throne, to become the greatest, and to reap the rewards and attention that come along with it.

He’s been branded the track’s most eligible bachelor. And rarely does he cross a finish line without a dozen screaming, adoring women brandishing his name on glitter-covered T-shirts across their chests, just hoping he’ll break his own rules and take one of them to bed.

But he won’t. As loose as Dustin may be on the road, he’s become disciplined in life. He let love in completely—once. For one person. Hannah Judge. And she wrecked him.

And now, she’s back.

My Thoughts:

Burn, the final book in Ginger Scott’s Fuel trilogy, is a fabulous finish to her latest new adult romance story. Burn picks up several years after the end of Wreck, and it is just as intense as the prior two books.

Ms. Scott masterfully writes the YA/NA genre. Her characters are en pointe. Her themes are classic yet current. In Burn, we find out whether or not Hannah and Dustin will get a second chance at love. There are secrets that could destroy them. There are wretched antagonists who are out to get Dustin and anyone who stands with him. Between the person and professional angst, my heart was racing a mile-a-minute throughout this book!

It killed me that Dustin still feels undeserving of love and supportive relationships. Even though I hated Hannah’s decisions in book two, Burn, I was hopeful she would redeem herself by the end of the trilogy. Of course, author Ginger Scott gives her readers the HFN ending they deserve, but it was a rocky road to get there. I loved the secondary characters who offer support to Hannah and Dustin–Hannah’s family, Bailey, and a surprise new character!

Burn is about forgiveness and healing. I loved the journey through Hannah and Dustin’s story, and their story’s end is perfect. Even if car racing is not your thing, I predict Ms. Scott’s story will have your engine revving!

About the Author: Ginger Scott is an Amazon-bestselling, Goodreads Choice Award and Rita award-nominated author of several young and new adult romances, including The Waiting Series, The Falling Series, The Harper Boys, The Hard Count, Cry Baby and her recent Varsity Series. A sucker for a good romance, Ginger’s other passion is sports, and she often blends the two in her stories. When she’s not writing, the odds are high that she’s somewhere near a baseball diamond, either watching her son take the field or cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ginger lives in Arizona and is married to her college sweetheart whom she met at ASU (fork ’em, Devils).
