About the Book:
Jesse Boston is the man of my dreams. He’s super sexy, super rich, and super funny. He gets all my jokes, he treats me like a princess, and our love life is smokin’ hot.
So I’m gonna marry him. I’m not real picky about how that happens and if my mother wants to have her say, fine. That’s fine. She gave birth to three boys and just one girl. So I get it. She NEEDS a wedding.
But when she invites my childhood nemesis, KAREN, to plan our wedding AND be one of my bride’s maids? Uh—no. It’s not happening. Karen Krakken-Channing will not plan my wedding, will not be at my wedding, and she’s certainly not going to be INmy wedding.
Luckily, my jet-butler, Miles, and my almost-husband get this great idea!
We’re going to elope to Vegas on Christmas Eve eve, get hitched in the most ridiculous way possible, and then fly home in time for Christmas Eve dinner.
We’ve got it all figured out.
Nothing can go wrong.
We will have one simple wedding in like… a drive-through chapel, and call it good.
Take that, KAREN!
Bossy Bride features Jesse and Emma in a rompy, whirlwind trip down a rabbit hole of “Fantasy” Vegas weddings, and just when you think nothing else could go wrong—a mermaid descends from the ceiling.
My Thoughts:
Bossy Bride is an outrageously hilarious romantic comedy novella in author JA Huss’ Bossy Brothers series. I fell for the main characters, Jesse and Emma in the first book of the series. Their crazy escapades are taken up a notch in this latest installment.
I love the chemistry between Jesse and Emma. Jesse’s head-over-heels in love and more than willing to make bossy Emma the happiest bride ever. Naturally, that means letting Emma go a little crazy in order to be in charge of her wedding. Emma Dumas’ family plays a huge roll in Bossy Bride, and I can’t wait to get more of them in future books. I’m also hoping for more of Miles, the Berry Bright Cosmetics flight butler.
Bossy Bride is set around the Christmas holiday, but it is not a holiday story per se. Sprinkled into this fast paced, outlandish story are some heartwarming messages about family and home. The madcap Vegas adventure is the craziest, most fun day you could ever, and imagine. Bossy Bride is a lightweight, fun reading escape!

About the Author: J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.
After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.
So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.
She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.
